Shop Drawings
Rebar Detailing / Shop Drawing
The structural engineer is responsible for determining what rebar content is needed in each component of the structure, starting with the footings, and working up. Their calculations reveal the size, spacing, zoning, layering of bar, and other crucial data. These calculations show what they need in the concrete for it not to fall. However, Field personnel are not able to work from these types of drawings.
It’s our team of experts’ job to take the structural drawings, study them, interpret the data, and create new detailed drawings that are more practical in the field. Our team is responsible for creating the drawings that tell the field personnel, known as placers or rod men or rebar lather, where to place the bar prior to concrete being poured.
While it may seem simple enough, the process to get the drawings into the hands of the placers is rather complex but we got it. AAKAR uses the latest version of the “ACI Detailing Manual” and the “Manual of Standard Practice for Detailing Reinforced Concrete Structures” along with the provided structural drawings and personal experience to produce the Rebar Shop Drawings.
Our shops include Detailed Rebar placement layouts, Bar List, Universal Bar Bending schedules, Bar quantity and weight, and detailed sections for each condition.
We use AutoCAD, RebarCAD, and Revit to produce the rebar shop drawings. We provide bar and bending schedules in imported ASA files to fabricators to expedite the fabrication process.
We have in-house P.E. if stamping is required.
Steel Shop Drawing
Structural Steel shop drawings play an essential role in any form of steel construction. Steel shop drawings are used to define the components parts that are used during their construction, fabrication and assembly. An A/E creates the initial blueprint, which is then analyzed by us, and we use our knowledge and expertise to prepare a shop drawing including different components such as Beams, Columns, Decks, Braces, Stairs, Joists, Handrails.
Our standard shop drawings set may include but is not limited to:
- General notes and isometric view.
- Anchor bolt plan with details.
- Erection plans with details and sections.
- Elevations with details.
- Detailed assembly drawings with bill of materials.
- Single part drawings.
- Drawing lists, assembly list with bill of material and weight computations, bolts list.
- All steel detailing will be done according to AISC standards & customary shop drawing practices in accordance with City, State and Federal guidelines by a professional detailer.
- In Addition, we make every effort to conform to your individual standards.
- Any type of report you may need.
- Files such as PDF, dwg, dxf, fabtrol, dstv & nc1 for computer-controlled CNC machines.
